First Time in Therapy

How you operate.

Maybe you’ve always thought therapy could help you but you’ve never had the opportunity or willingness to try it. Perhaps you’ve used all of your resources and want to see if therapy can offer something different. Or someone in your life suggested you speak to a therapist. Long story short, you’re new here.

How we help.

With our first-time therapy clients, we balance getting to know your story and goals with teaching you how our emotions, thoughts, and behaviors are connected and why we are the way we are. We believe that knowledge (about yourself and the therapeutic process) is power. We’ll figure out together how we want to approach our early sessions until we find a rhythm that sustains our work.
