Sophie Elkins, ACSW

Pronouns: she/her

Sophie is a Los Angeles-based psychotherapist empowering older adolescent and adult clients (ages 16-45) through the development and evolution of self-image and the challenging of stagnating beliefs. Sophie loves working with folks experiencing anxiety, perfectionism, and challenges with body image and self-judgment. She also enjoys working with couples to explore relationship dynamics and effective communication strategies.

Drawing on experience working with society’s most vulnerable populations in individual and group settings, Sophie believes that connection and safe spaces are crucial to one's ability to thrive. She recognizes the complexity and ambiguity of life and feels passionately about discovering the gray areas with clients. Sophie achieves this by using a client-centered, strengths-based, and systems approach while utilizing evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing.

Sophie obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Social Justice from Chapman University and later earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from USC. Outside of working with her incredible clients, Sophie loves to sing and cuddle up with her two pups, Frank and Miso.

Sophie is an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW #115866) practicing under the supervision of Brooke Schwartz (LCSW #105459)
