Self-Invalidation and Low Self-Esteem

How you operate.

You’re your own worst critic. You feel unworthy, out of place, and unable to trust your gut. You second guess and scrutinize your every move. Maybe you’re trying so hard not to be yourself that you can’t even remember who you are. You’re overwhelmed by your lack of confidence and feel like your best is never enough.

How we help.

We start by teaching our clients the difference between self-esteem and self-compassion, and asking them to reflect on where they may have learned negative and critical self-talk. We’ll identify strategies to help you find a more compassionate inner voice and focus on staying in the present rather than ruminating about the past. We teach our clients to find the function in their “failure” and to validate their own experience of being a human who is perfectly imperfect.
