Meet the Team

Brooke Schwartz, LCSW | Practice Owner and Supervisor

Pronouns: she/her

I am a Los Angeles-based psychotherapist and Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I specialize in working with adolescents, young adults, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma symptoms, relationship difficulties, uncertainty about values or next steps in life, and critical self-talk.

While I believe that each of my clients brings unique qualities and strengths, the people I work with tend to be high achievers, perfectionists, and — on paper — seem to have everything figured out. I’m passionate about giving my clients a safe and nurturing space to be flawed, get emotionally messy, and prioritize their mental health so that they can enjoy the life they’ve worked so hard to build.

Originally from Connecticut, I love taking advantage of all that California and the west coast have to offer. When I’m not working, you can find me reading at the beach, planning my next weekend road trip, or on a mindful walk with my rescue pup Remy.

Education and Training

I completed my undergraduate degree at McGill University in Montréal, Canada where I studied Sociology and International Development Studies.

I went on to complete a Master of Social Work with a clinical concentration at the Columbia University School of Social Work. While in this program, I was accepted into the Dialectical Behavior Therapy Training Program and Lab, the only program of its kind in a school of social work. I completed my clinical internship at the NYU Child Study Center.

I am trained in several evidence-based behavioral therapies and modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy Prolonged Exposure (DBT-PE), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Enhanced for Eating Disorders (CBT-E), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

Sophie Elkins, ACSW

Pronouns: she/her

Sophie is a Los Angeles-based psychotherapist empowering older adolescent and adult clients (ages 16-45) through the development and evolution of self-image and the challenging of stagnating beliefs. Sophie loves working with folks experiencing anxiety, perfectionism, and challenges with body image and self-judgment. She also enjoys working with couples to explore relationship dynamics and effective communication strategies.

Drawing on experience working with society’s most vulnerable populations in individual and group settings, Sophie believes that connection and safe spaces are crucial to one's ability to thrive. She recognizes the complexity and ambiguity of life and feels passionately about discovering the gray areas with clients. Sophie achieves this by using a client-centered, strengths-based, and systems approach while utilizing evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing.

Sophie obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Social Justice from Chapman University and later earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from USC. Outside of working with her incredible clients, Sophie loves to sing and cuddle up with her two pups, Frank and Miso.
